Can I change my boat parking space?

Yes, if another space is available.

If a space is available, they can be purchased at the office for $150 annually.
How long do the permits last?

The permits are good for 1 year and can be renewed for the same space each year.

Members who have purchased a parking space.

Building Permits

How do I know what I can change or build on my property?

Review the by-laws to ensure you can build or change anything on your property.

Ask your Area Director or someone on the environmental committee.
How long is a building permit good for?

One year.
Is there an appeal process if my permit was denied?

Yes, a board hearing will allow a member to appeal the denied permit.
Where Do I get a building permit?

You can pick one up at the office or fill one out on the website.
Why would a building permit be denied?

Not enough information on the permit or violates the by-laws of BLR.

Golf Carts

Can anyone operate a golf cart at BLR?

No, only state licensed drivers over the age of 16 and drivers under the age of 16 with BLR driving permit. No one under the age of 12 is permitted to operate a golf cart at BLR.

Can I be fined for not following the golf cart rules?

Yes, any member or guest who repeatedly violates the golf cart rules can be fined by the board.
Can I lose my golf cart driving privileges?

Yes, if you have violated the golf cart rules and the board decides to suspend your privileges.
Can my guest bring his/her golf cart to BLR?

Yes, they must register the golf cart at the office and comply with all BLR golf cart rules. The lot owner will be responsible for their guest.
Do I need insurance to operate a golf cart at BLR?

Yes, all members are required to have insurance on their golf carts and must register the golf cart in the office.
Do I need lights on my golf cart?

Yes, to operate a golf cart at night you must have working front and rear lights.
Do I need to have a lot number on my golf cart?

Yes, all golf carts must have 3” high lot numbers on the front and rear of the golf cart.
What do I do if I see reckless or careless driving of a golf cart?

Contact the office, an Area Director, fill out a situation response form on the website, or contact a golf cart committee member.

Pets

Are there pet waste stations in the park?

Yes, there are a number of pet waste stations throughout the park. Please remember to clean up after your pet.
Can I have a fenced in area for my pet?

No, fences of any kind are prohibited.
Are pets allowed at BLR?

Yes, but they must be on a leash at all times, this is for the safety of the pet and other members.
Is there a pet walking area?

Yes, there is a pet walking area in the back of the boat parking lot.

Trash Area

Is there a trash recycle area?

No, the trash recycle area is permanently closed, you are no longer permitted to drop off recyclable items in this area.
What if I have something that is not allowed in the trash area?

You must make other arrangements to dispose of it.
What if I have wood or yard debris?

There is a separate area for wood and for leaves in the back of the boat parking area.
What items are not permitted in the dumpsters?

mattresses,furniture,appliances
Where is the trash area?

It is located across the street in the boat parking area.
